Camping trip to Greenways Landing

Greenways my beloved, my favourite camping spot in South Australia. The weekend of 20 - 22nd February the girls and I headed up to Greenways Landing to spend a nice relaxing weekend and enjoying nature. Now I will admit first off, my mood was dampened a tad on the Saturday due to the MASSIVE amount of ants in and around the campsite. But other than that the weekend was really nice. The first night we all claimed our femininity and went skinny dipping in the Murray River and let me tell you, I’ve never felt so free! Most of the weekend was spent swimming in the Murray or reading under our gazebo. It was so nice to just be outside and away from everything for a few days and just laze around. Unfortunately we did get rained out on the Sunday so we couldn’t properly enjoy our last day, but there’s also something so magical about being outside in the rain. The smells that come with the downpour and give you a sense of nostalgia from you childhood of summer storms. Sometimes I wish I could live at Greenways for a week or two, doing nothing but swimming, reading and exploring. I mean technically I could if it wasn’t for work, but there’s something so special about Greenways. It being a free site makes it all the more fantastic. But it’s a gorgeous site that provides glorious sunsets, beautiful wildlife and a special connection between you and the land. If you’ve never been then I highly recommend taking a trip up there soon. And if you’ve already been, well then you should say fuck it and go again! I want to visit it again before Nick and I leave and this time I’ll take him with me as he’s never been. One last trip to say a proper goodbye.
